The new Mazda CX-5 goes on sale in Ireland at a starting price of €25,195, and the top of the range price is €34,985, writes Brian Byrne.
The entry level car is a 2.0 petrol with 165hp available and B rated for Irish tax purposes.
There are two grades, Executive and Sport. An automatic version is available, and an AWD variant.
The diesel powertrains on offer are 150hp and 175hp 2.2 diesels, the latter only available on the AWD vehicle. The version expected to be most popular in the Irish market is the Sport 2.2 at €29,495 and A rated for tax.
In the segement, the CX-5 is the most economical and also has the fastest acceleration.
