When Peugeot's new 208 comes to Ireland at the end of June it will initially be offered with a 1.4 Band A diesel, writes Trish Whelan from Lisbon.
A 1.2 petrol powered version will also be offered, expected to be a Band A car too. And a 1.0 petrol version will be available from September.
While prices aren't going to be announced until nearer the launch date here, Peugeot Ireland says they will be 'competitive' against Ford's Fiesta and VW's Polo.
Offering the car in both 3- and 5-door styles is aimed at capturing both male and female younger drivers as both designs look significantly different. Peugeot says they are also hoping to recapture their place in the second car market.
