New SUV tyre from Goodyear
Goodyear has introduced a new tyre for SUVs with much improved fuel consumption, offering better braking and which is substantially quieter than its predecessor, writes Brian Byrne.
The EfficientGrip SUV product joins the EfficientGrip Passenger and in addition to using the brand's FuelSaving technologies it provides 10 percent better rolling resistance.
Fuel consumption is claimed to be 4 percent better, while the EfficientGrip SUV is said to offer 6 percent shorter braking distances in the wet and 5 percent shorter in dry conditions.
The tyre is designed for 'summer on-road' and has been specified for original equipment on the Range Rover Evoque (above) and the Audi Q3. It has been tested and approved for hot climate use by the German independent testing group TUV.
The EfficientGrip SUV fills out a range of SUV tyres from Goodyear, which include the Wrangler family, the Eagle F1 and the Winter UltraGrip+ SUV.
