Ford Ireland will be bringing in the new 1.0 petrol Focus in early July, writes Brian Byrne.
The car uses a new 3-cylinder EcoBoost engine which offers A ratings in the Irish CO2 tax system and is available with 100hp and 125hp outputs. Fuel consumptions are the equivalent of 59/57mpg respectively.
No Irish prices are yet available, but in the UK the version sells for just £250 more than the 1.6 petrol engine model.
In the Irish context, this is the engine likely to change the game back from the diesel domination of the segment which has been the case since we opted for CO2 taxation.
