Land Rover has announced more details of its All-New Range Rover SUV which will go on sale in Ireland in January 2013.
The fourth generation of the iconic Range Rover line was shown for the first time at an event held at The Royal Ballet School in London.
It is the world's first SUV with a lightweight all-aluminium body, while preserving the unique character of the vehicle - a blend of luxury, performance and all-terrain capability. The all-aluminium body means better performance and efficiency.
Customers have a choice of a petrol 510PS LR-V8 Supercharged, and two diesel (3.0 258PS TDV6 and 4.4 339PS SDV8) engines, all of which are now paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The 3.0 diesel delivers 22 per cent reduction in fuel consumption and achieves 7.5 L/100kms (37.7mpg) and 196g/km. A high-efficiency diesel hybrid is planned later in 2013 (C02 169g/km).
This latest Range Rover is crammed with premium features including latest interior technologies for comfort, convenience and for seamless connectivity.
It has Command Driving Position, which means you sit up higher - typically over 90mm higher than other premium SUVs - to give a better sense of confidence and control.
The next generation version of the brand's Terrain Response system analyses the current driving conditions and automatically selects the most suitable vehicle settings for you. The car's wading depth has been improved by 200mm to 900mm and it comes with a 3,500kg trailer capability.
The new Range Rover has been subjected to stringent road and off-road tests, covering countless thousands of miles over 18 months of arduous tests in over 20 countries with extremes of climate and road surfaces.
