Kia cee'd Sportwagon launches
The new generation Kia cee'd Sportwagon goes on sale this week at a starting price of €21,795 plus dealer charges, writes Trish Whelan.
The car will be available with 1.4 and 1.6 diesel engines and in two levels of specification, TX and EX.
The pricing represents €800 more than the 5-door hatch version, while moving from the 1.4 to the 1.6 engine is also €800. The price difference in the specification levels is €1,500.
The TX grade provides as standard 16” steel wheels, front electric windows, air conditioning, six airbags, voice activated Bluetooth phone ready, body colour door handles, bumpers and mirrors.
The EX grade adds 16” alloys, rear parking sensor, side indicator mirror lights, LED running lights, privacy glass, rear electric windows, electric folding mirrors and a leather trimmed steering wheel.
In the experience of the first generation SW variant, MD of Kia Ireland James Brooks says that they expect some 60 percent of cee'd sales to be Sportwagon, substantially more than the average proportion of wagon versions in the compact family car segment in Ireland.
