Peugeot 208 is 'Leader of the Pack'

The new Peugeot 208 is segment leader for low C02 emissions, ahead of its many rivals.

Peugeot's Marketing Manager Emma Toner says the only model in the small car B1 segment out of a total of 29 models to deliver both petrol and diesel models at sub-100g of C02, the new 208 offers up to 3.8 L/100km (that's 74mpg) and emissions as low as 87g/km C02.

Peugeot's Sales & Marketing Director Des Cannon adds "With Budget 2013 approaching, it is widely expected that motorists will pay more VRT and annual road tax in the New Year when buying their new car." He says the new Peugeot 208 is the only model in the B segment that delivers both petrol and diesel models at the new sub-100g C02 benchmark. "With VRT and road tax linked to C02 emissions, the new 208 is uniquely placed to incur minimal increases in Budget 2013."

The new 208 is expected to become a star-seller for Peugeot like its predecessor 206 and 207 models. Retailing from €14,495 plus delivery related charges, standard equipment across the range for Ireland includes a full size spare wheel, ESP and cruise control + speed limiter.

The 208 hatchback range will be followed by a GTi version next spring and a compact crossover model, the 2008, by summer 2013.
