Toyota Ireland has launched a 7-seater version of its Prius hybrid car in Ireland, writes Brian Byrne.
The Prius+ is longer, wider and higher than the standard car, and is powered by the same 1.8 petrol engine and electric motor system, with a total power output of 136hp.
The car comes with Toyota's latest front end design, and the overall profile is of a large estate car rather than the traditional tall MPV style.
The interior design features a new horizontal-theme dashboard. The battery for the hybrid system is located between the front seats, so there's no cargo space compromise.
Toyota Ireland has also introduced restyled versions of the Verso (above) and Verso-S MPVs, and a 5-seat version of the Verso.
The Prius+ sells at €34,995, 2013 Verso from €25,460 and Verso-S from €17,995.
