The new SEAT Leon has been launched in Ireland with a 12-model line-up which includes a choice of 1.2 TSI petrol (86bhp and 105bhp), 1.6 TDI diesel (90bhp and 105bhp), 1.8 TSI petrol (180bhp) and 2.0 TDI (150bhp and 184bhp).
The 1.6 TDI diesel is expected to be the main seller here with emissions of 99g/km placing it in motor tax band A2. It can return fuel economy of 3.8 L/100km.
The new Leon is new from the ground up and sits on the new Volkswagen Group MBQ platform. It's slightly shorter than its predecessor, yet the wheelbase is up by almost six centimetres.
Trims include Style, and FR.
Standard specification on all models includes six airbags, air conditioning, multifunction steering wheel and on-board computer, a 5-inch touch screen, Bluetooth, and CD/Aux, six speakers.
