The 37-head jury of independent design experts, who judge entries according to nine criteria, made the award for the car's high level of design innovation.
The car features Mazda's KODO design for its new generation of vehicles, inspired by 'the explosive release of energy observed in animals or athletes springing into motion'. It is another accolade for the KODO Soul of Motion design theme. The Mazda6 saloon is pictured above.
