Ford scoops IVOTY category awards

It was a clean sweep by Ford Ireland when the Continental Irish Van of the Year 2013 category winners were announced yesterday.

The Ford Fiesta Van won the Continental Irish Car Derived Van of the Year accolade, and the Ford Ranger was awarded the Continental Irish Commercial SUV of the Year title by the Irish Motoring Writers Association (IMWA) Van Jury.

All nine voting members of the IMWA Van Jury took part in the vote taking into account such attributes as load capacity, reliability, overall versatility, cost of ownership and drive comfort.

Presenting the awards to Donella Casey, Fleet, Supply and Distribution Manager of Ford Ireland, John Morgan, Continental Tyres Ireland Business Development Manager congratulated Ford on scooping both category awards. He said: "In today's tough commercial vehicle market, I am sure that the endorsement of the Irish Motoring Writers Association and these Continental Irish Van of the Year Category Awards will be a huge boost for both the Fiesta Van and Ranger."

Michael Moroney, Chairman of the IMWA van jury said these van category awards 'are of particular interest to Irish van / commercial drivers and fleet managers as they highlight the niche models best suited to the particular requirements of the Irish market'.
