Mercedes-Benz Ireland has launched the brand's new compact saloon, the CLA, at a price from €29,900, writes Brian Byrne.
The car is based on the new A-Class platform and the styling comes from the CLS which is an coupe-styled option to the E-Class.
The launch powertrains are a 1.6 petrol unit and a 2.2 diesel with automatic transmission which is on sale for €39,000.
The car's range offers fuel economy figures from 4.2L/100km.
External features of the new car include LED daytime driving lights and a dark patterned radiator grille. Interior elements include a driver information screen.
Five equipment and specification lines will be offered.
The Irish Mercedes importer has also launched the latest version of the E-Class Coupe and Cabriolet, from €47,360.
