Improved diesel from Nissan

Nissan has improved the 1.5 diesel engine available in its Juke, writes Brian Byrne.

The changes include extra torque and better efficiency, with a claimed fuel economy of over 67mpg equivalent and CO2 emissions of 109g/km.

A closed loop exhaust gas recycling system will help make the car compatible with the Euro6 emissions regulations.

There have also been changes to the gear ratios in the powertrain.
