Opel reveals changed Insignia
Opel has released pictures of a revised Insignia in advance of the car's public reveal at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, writes Brian Byrne.
The latest iteration of the brand's flagship incorporates flashier chrome and lights at the front, changes to the profile crease lines, and a re-detailed rear treatment. LED daylight running lights are standard.
There will also be interior changes aimed at making the driver's area more ergonomic, and improved engines will include a 140hp 2.0 diesel with sub-100g/km emissions.
Technology available will include radar and camera-based assistance systems ranging from adaptive cruise control to side blind zone alert, forward collision alert and second-generation park assist.
Some 8,000 units of the Insignia have been sold in Ireland since the model was first launched.
