Toyota tops in May

Toyota was the best selling car make in May and according to SIMI it is the second best selling brand behind Volkswagen in the year-to-date sales. These two are followed by Ford, Hyundai, Nissan and Skoda.

Figures from SIMI also show that the Nissan Qashqai was the bestselling car last month; that 27 percent of cars sold were petrol with 72 percent diesel; that silver was the most popular car colour and 57 percent of cars sold last month fell into the lowest C02 emission category.

Ford was the top selling van make in May, while the Volkswagen Caddy was the top van seller. Volvo was the top selling truck brand.
