Future Nissan electric vehicles will use 'inductive charging', with the car only needing to be parked over a special mat to charge, writes Brian Byrne.
And the company also plans to expand its EV models fleet to five, with two more unspecified vehicles added to the Leaf, an Infiniti-badged compact (above) based on the Leaf, and an EV version of its NV200 van due to go into production in Europe later this year.
The induction charging technology is in development, and when available it will mean that no physical plugging in will be required.
The e-NV200 is currently being field-tested in Singapore, and will be built at the company plant in Barcelona.
