An American company puts its drivers 'on trial' during safety meetings to bring home the consequences if they break company driving policy, writes Brian Byrne.
Dunkin' Donuts hires trial attorneys to conduct the mock trials, in which the drivers are questioned about whether or not they have used cell phones, texted, or otherwise gone against the company's policy.
Safety director for the company William McCory says the drivers 'get a lot out of it' because they clearly see the consequences they face.
"And none of those drivers put 'on trial' have ever won their case," he told a major conference for fleet operators on driving safety, organised by a big insurnace company.
