Stamp to celebrate Jag E-type

Perhaps it is the most beautiful car ever built, writes Trish Whelan.

The legendary Jaguar E-type's stunning looks and 150mph performance are being celebrated appropriately on one of three new First Class postage stamps being launched yesterday by the the UK's Royal Mail.

The Jaguar E-type created a worldwide sensation when it was first unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1961. More than 50 years on, it continues to cause both excitement and desire, whether it's on the road, or illustrated on a postage stamp.

The iconic red Jag E-type roadster is joined by five other popuar British classic cars including the 1962 MG B, 1963 Aston Martin DB5, 1965 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow, 1968 Morgan Plus 8, and the 1976 Lotus Esprit.
