Thirty years on from the launch of the Audi Sport quattro, the can brand will unveil a concept of its spiritual successor at the Frankfurt Motor Show next week, writes Trish Whelan.
The 700hp car has a V8 petrol engine with hybrid technology, and Audi say it can achieve 0-100km/h in 3.7 seconds, yet return up to 113mph equivalent in fuel consumption.
The plug-in coupe concept features xtensive use of aluminium and carbon fibre materials in its body structure.
The trademark double rectangular headlights use the LED Matrix technology which will be available on the Audi A8 before the end of the year.
