Ford is revealing an upmarket badging at Frankfurt next week, joining Citroen and Renault in developing variants of their cars to attract buyers of premium brands, writes Brian Byrne.
The blue oval brand will showcase a Vignale Concept based on the next generation of its Mondeo. Special styling and interior specification treatments will feature in the line, which will cost up to 15 percent more than the current Titanium top grade.
The company says it expects up to 10 percent of sales from Vignale specification cars when the line is fully rolled out.
Ford's new Mondeo has again been delayed for European introduction as the company restructures its manufacturing here.
