More apps announced by Ford

Ford has announced a range of new apps to be made available through its SYNC connectivity system on upcoming new cars in Europe, writes Brian Byrne.

The voice-actuated apps will be available from the company's AppLink Store, and include the Tom Tom navigation system, the audiobook streamer Audioteka, accommodation reservations system Hotels.Com, the Cityseeker city guides, and the Deutsche Telekon Autoread app for voicing emails and other messages.

They were revealed at the IFA consumer electronics show in Berlin.

The AppLink Store has already been very successful for Ford in the US, and the new EcoSport small SUV and the Fiesta will get the systems before the end of the year in Europe.
