A breathalyser for your smartphone will go on sale in the US next month, writes Brian Byrne.
The Breathometer plugs into the phone's headphones jack and sends information to an app that will tell the user what his or her's blood alcohol levels are, and how long it will take their body to process the alcohol until they are sober again.
It will also hail a cab if the driver is over the limit. The device will be sold online and in stores.
Seems to us the $49 system might also be useful for helping avoid texting while drunk ... a situation which can cause all sorts of downstream bad effects.
