Another 500 variant goes on sale
Fiat Ireland has introduced the latest member of the 500 family, the 500S, writes Brian Byrne.
The special styling details are inspired by Fiat's Abarth and Sporting themes and include special front and rear bumpers and new side skirts; a boot lid-mounted rear spoiler and dark chrome detailing; a chrome exhaust; rear privacy glass and new 15-inch (and optional 16-inch) alloy wheels. The 500S also gets a range of eight body colours .
Sports seats and Abarth-design steering wheel, gear knob and gaiter and red detailing. A matte silver dashboard panel rounds out the interior revisions.
Power options are the 69hp 1.2-litre petrol and the 85hp TwinAir Turbo petrol and both are equipped with air conditioning (climate control on the TwinAir version). Blue & Me connectivity, seven airbags, fuel-saving Start&Stop, electric windows and mirrors and remote central locking fill out the standard specifications.
Prices start at at €15,195 for the 1.2, with CO2 emissions of 113g/km, while the TwinAir Turbo version costs €16,495, with CO2 emissions of 92g/km. There's a five-year warranty as standard.
