Honda launches 1.6 diesel CR-V

The Honda CR-V is now on sale in Ireland priced from €31,995 and equipped with a new 1.6 diesel engine, writes Trish Whelan. It has emissions of 119g/km for annual road tax from €200.

The technology includes Honda’s Idle Stop and Eco Assist systems and the engine in the CR-V offers 4.5L/100km, the equivalent of 62.8mpg. The vehicle has a range in excess of 1,280 kilometres from a full tank of diesel.

The CR-V is a full-size family SUV with ample room inside and with up to 1,669 litres of luggage capacity available. Standard equipment on all models includes dual-zone climate control, 17” Alloy wheels, cruise control, alarm and USB connectivity. There are also ES and ES Sport grades.

Adrian Cole of Universal Honda Ltd says 'the New CR-V 1.6 diesel is a unique vehicle, offering a bigger car experience matched to smaller car economy and the fuel consumption figures beat those of the average supermini on Irish roads'. He expects this CR-V 1.6 will appeal to many existing and previous CR-V owners as well as drivers of other large SUVs.

The CR-V is available to test drive from 25 October at Approved Honda Dealerships nationwide and is available with the Honda Now Finance plan, from €369 per month.
