VW recalls 945 Tiguans sold here

Volkswagen are calling 945 Tiguan vehicles on our roads built between the start of 2008 and the middle of 2011 over a possible fuse fault, writes Trish Whelan.

This recall follows the discovery that, in isolated cases, a fuse may trip resulting in failure of one of the two vehicle light circuits. This, in turn, could cause individual light functions to fail.

However, the car's electric circuitry ensures that some lights remain on all around the car. The driver is immediately informed of this on the instrument cluster.

It will just take a few minutes to have the fuse replaced with a tougher surface coating. The relevant owners will be informed by Volkswagen. Anyone with any concerns can call Volkswagen Ireland Customer Care on 1850 812761.
