Peugeot targets strong performance from 308

Peugeot expect to sell some 900 units of their newly launched 308 here this year representing 3.5 percent of the C-segment, the biggest segment in the county accounting for 31 percent of the market here, writes Trish Whelan.

The expected petrol/diesel mix is 15 percent petrol and 85 percent diesel.

Three trims are offered, Access, Active and Allure.

The vast majority of sales are expected to be Level 2 Active, with 22 percent Level 3 Allure. The volume seller will be the Active 1.6 HDi with 61 percent of sales.

The entry level Access models comes with six airbags, ESP, a spare wheel, air conditioning, cruise control with speed limiter, Bluetooth, LED daytime running lights, and front electric windows. The 308 Access 1.2 petrol 82bhp (114g C02) model, retails from €18,990 plus delivery charges.

The middle Active model gains hill assist, a leather gear knob and steering wheel, dual zone climate control, rear parking sensors, a 9.7-inch touch screen, 16-inch alloy wheels, rear electric windows, front fog lamps, a full size spare wheel, driver lumbar support and two armrests. The 1.2 petrol 82bhp retails from €20,990 while the Active 1.6 HDi 92bhp (95g C02) retails from €22,990 plus delivery charges.

The top Allure model gets 17-inch alloy wheels, front parking sensors, chrome window surrounds, electric folding door mirrors and a colour instrument cluster with 3.5-inch LCD. It also gets full LED headlamps as standard, the only car in its class to feature such standard equipment. The 1.6 HDi 115bhp (98g C02) retails from €24,490 plus delivery.

Options on Active and Allure models include a reverse camera and satellite navigation pack for €575. In addition to these features, a panoramic roof pack retails for €1,100. A Driver Assistance Pack is also available.
