Audi has launched its S3 Cabriolet along with the S1 and S1 Sportback.
The open-top four-seater is powered by a 2.0 TFSI four-cylinder petrol engine developing 300hp and delivers 380 Nm of torque. It can accelerate to 100km/h in 5.4 seconds.
With its standard six-speed S tronic transmission the bottom gears are close-stepped for a sporty effect, whereas the long gear ratio of the top gear lowers rpms and so fuel consumption. It consumes 7.1 L/100kms of fuel on average and 165 grams of C02 per kilometre.
The S3 Cabriolet also makes use of quattro permanent all-wheel drive.
The S3 Cabriolet has a soft top with an electrohydraulic drive. Magnesium, aluminium and high-strength steel keep its weight low and an insulating foam layer in the roof reduces the noise level in the interior.
The top is available in three colours. It opens or closes in 18 seconds, and you can do this while driving at speeds of up to 50 km/h.
Deliveries in Ireland start this summer at an on the road price of €58,950.
