Spirit Motor Group & Volvo aid Irish sailors

Spirit Motor Group and Volvo have announced Team Brewster Tidey as Brand Ambassadors and presented them with the keys to a new Volvo V60, writes Trish Whelan.

Team Brewster Tidey are Andrea Brewster and Saskia Tidey, full time sailors campaigning to represent Ireland and achieve their Olympic ambition of winning a medal in the 49erFX class at the Olympic Games in Rio 2016.

They are members of the Irish Sailing Association Olympic Development Squad and are recognised as Ireland's most promising 49erFX pairing for Olympic qualification.

On presenting the Volvo V60 to Andrea and Saskia, Alan Moore, Dealer Principal of Spirit Motor Group said "We are delighted to be joining Team Brewster Tidey on their journey to the Olympic qualifications. 49erFX sailors need to be athletic, strong and agile and we can't think of a better fit for the Volvo range of cars. We wish them every success."

Adrian Yeates, Managing Director of Volvo Car Ireland, said the support to Team Brewster Tidey 'demonstrates Volvo's deepening commitment to the Irish sailing community which already includes the Volvo Dun Laoghaire Regatta and, from 2014, Volvo Cork Week'. He also extended Volvo's best wishes to the girls on their challenge to reach Rio.
