SsangYong at North West Home and Motor Show

The Ocean FM North West Home and Motor Show which began yesterday at Ballinode, Co Sligo, winds up this evening. This, the biggest event in the region, was staged at IT Sligo Knocknarea Arena.

Ocean FM worked with local motor clubs to stage the motor show for the North West. Working with the Neal Egan Memorial Club and the Connaught Veteran and Vintage Motor Club, the event aimed to recognise the huge love of vintage and classic cars and bikes across the region.

A large array of Ireland's top motoring brands had regional dealers present who used the opportunity to showcase new models to locals in the North West.

The SsangYong Rexton W had its West of Ireland first unveiling at the show, with Charlestown Mayo Dealer Des Cassidy and his son Jason joined by Eoin Mulvihill of SsangYong for the event (pictured above). Des believes the farming community, who need a serious off roader, and anybody who has been putting off purchasing for fear of spending too much, will welcome this affordably priced 4x4.

Other highlights from the show included a live demonstration from Sligo Fire Rescue team who recreated the scene of a road accident for educational purposes.
