Toyota Ireland has confirmed the introduction of three voluntary recalls for vehicles in Ireland.
For a spiral case assembly, these include Hilux and RAV4 models manufactured between June 2004 to December 2010 involving 4,937 vehicles. This can involve a situation in which the driver’s airbag may become de-activated. The remedial work will take approximately 60 minutes to complete.
For a seat rail spring replacement, the cars include Yaris and Urban Cruiser models manufactured between January 2005 to August 2010 involving 3,475 vehicles. It could mean the seat may not lock into the adjusted position. The remedial work will take approximately 40 to 90 minutes to complete.
In a steering column bracket matter, the cars involved Yaris T Sport and Urban Cruiser models manufactured between September 2005 to February 2009 involving 19 Urban Cruiser and 9 Yaris T Sport vehicles. This could result in a steering column bracket failure. The remedial work will take approximately 150 to 270 minutes to complete.
There have been no reports worldwide of any accidents or injuries related to these issues. Toyota Ireland will be writing directly to those owners involved in the recall to arrange to have their vehicles inspected by their local dealer at a time convenient for them and at no cost to the owner. In the meantime should a Toyota owner have a query they can contact their local Dealer or Toyota Ireland on 01 4190222.
