Audi supports 'GermanConnects:)'

Audi Ireland reports that since the launch of the 'GermanConnects:) Deutschmobil' in October last year, over 2,000 primary, secondary and third level students, as well as 35 language teachers around Ireland, have participated in the programme to date, writes Trish Whelan.

Supported by Audi Ireland 'GermanConnects:)' is an initiative led by the German Embassy and the Goethe-Institut Irland aimed at promoting the German language at primary, secondary and third level in Ireland.

The campaign's aim is to promote German, spoken by almost 120 million people worldwide, as an important language for business and science as well as to help young Irish people improve their employability here in Ireland or abroad.

Audi has provided the programme with an Audi A3 Sportback to travel to these events around the country.

Christian Gussen, Managing Director of Audi Ireland commented: "As a multinational German company, we recognise the value of proficiency in a second or third language and are pleased to support this important programme in association with the German Embassy and Goethe-Institut Irland."
