Just 18 months after SsangYong re-entered the Irish market, with the Korando compact SUV, the model has been given a significant upgrade, writes Trish Whelan.
With new front and rear treatments that give the car more presence, and a number of interior enhancements, the car has also become more refined to drive thanks to a number of improvements in the drivetrain and soundproofing.
The new Korando has the familiar 149hp 2.0 diesel engine, with a 6-speed gearbox. There are two grades, the ES at €25,995 and the EL at €29,495.
A space saver spare is standard. Initially available in FWD, there will be AWD and commercial versions later in the year. SssangYong Ireland's John Keogh is pictured below at yesterday's introduction of the car.
