SSangYong impress at the Tinahely Show

SsangYong Motors Ireland showcased their range of commercial vehicles and SUVs at the Tinahely Show in Co Wicklow over this bank holiday Monday, 4 August, writes Trish Whelan.

Wicklow dealer Mark Burton of Derek Burton 4x4 was joined by the CEO of SsangYong Motors Ireland, Joe Harris, at the SsangYong stand.

Mr Harris, who was impressed with the event, said "The turnout this year has exceeded our expectations and we are delighted to showcase the SsangYong range in what we feel is a natural setting for a range with such strong towing capacity and powerful engines.

"Our most attention grabbing vehicle of the day has been the five seat commercial Rexton W which received a huge amount of interest from local businesses due to its large cargo area and attractive price tag.

The Rexton W commercial is priced from €34,119 for the manual version and from €36,719 for the automatic. The Business Edition (5 seat utility) is from €38,329 and the Limited Edition passenger is from €44,474. Power is from a 2.0 diesel outputting 155hp and with 360 Nm torque. With its 2.6 tonne towing capability, the Rexton W can haul a full-size caravan, double horsebox, boat or work trailer.

Tinahely Show office confirmed that numbers were up on last year with an estimated 20,000 people attending the event. The show is one of the longest running agricultural shows in the country, with the first event taking place back in 1937.
