With most of the car sales done for this year in Ireland, the biggest winner in percentage terms to date is Hyundai, which is recording an almost 39 percent growth in registrations, writes Brian Byrne.

With an overall market growth looking to finish at in excess of 25 percent up for passenger cars in 2014, according to an analysis of figures compiled by Motorcheck.ie, the Korean brand along with Renault, Toyota, and Nissan look set to exceed the average.

The brands in the top ten showing least growth in registrations so far this year are Audi at 13.7 percent, and Volkswagen at 17.7 percent, though the VW registrations in numbers are still keeping it at the top of marque sales, followed by Toyota and Ford.
