The 2015 Audi A6 is now available to order and will start arriving in Ireland in November with 2.0TDI 150 SE available from €44,750 OTR, writes Trish Whelan.
The revised version of the fourth-generation car — launched in 2011 —was unveiled last week at the Paris Motor show.
New equipment lines offer more choice. The Saloon, Avant, allroad quattro, S and RS models all receive midlife improvements.
There are new engine configurations, transmissions, headlights and tail lights as well as upgraded infotainment systems. Seven engines offered from launch include two petrols and five diesel units with power outputs ranging from 150hp to 320hp. These engines comply with EU6 emissions legislation.
Two 'Ultra' 2.0TDI versions are offered - the TDI 150 and TDI 190 with 109g and 110g respectively. The top of the range engine, the 4.0 TFSI petrol, is available in the Audi S6. It now delivers 450hp of power and uses COD (cylinder on demand) technology to emit 214g/km C02.
The 3.0 TDI 320hp BiTurbo is mated to an eight speed tiptronic transmission. All other engine variants are linked to a new six speed manual gearbox or a seven speed S-Tronic twin-clutch transmission.
The car will be available here on PCP through Audi Finance from €429 per month.
