VW commercial vehicle sales up 49pc on 2013

Sales of Volkswagen commercial vehicles are forecast to be up 50 percent on 2013, by year end, with a total of 16,500 commercial vehicles projected to be sold by the end of this year, writes Trish Whelan.

Based on market predictions this year of 13,080, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles market share will be 24 percent with 3,130 registrations in 2014. This is an increase of 49 percent on last year and is spread across all four model platforms - Caddy, Transporter, Crafter and Amarok.

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is reintroducing 0% APR which is now extended across the entire range for orders placed before 20 December 2014 for registration in 2015. Volkswagen claims this deal can save customers anywhere up to €4,000 versus the main retail banks and up to €2,500 versus competitors.

In 2015 launches will include a new generation Caddy and Transporter.

Alan Bateson, Managing Director,Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is expecting an 11 percent growth in the LCV market in 2015 compared to the current year.
