SEAT Leon ST Cupra on the way

Hot on the heels of the Leon Cupra hatchback comes the new Leon ST Cupra which combines the performance of the Cupra with the practicality of the ST estate model, writes Trish Whelan. SEAT claim it is the most powerful estate car in its class.

The ST Cupra will make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March before going on sale here in Ireland this summer.

Estates are all about extra cargo capacity and the newcomer will have a maximum load space of 1,470 litres.

Just one model will be offered in Ireland, a 2.0 TSI petrol with 280bhp. Average fuel consumption is a claimed 6.6 L/100km with the DSG and 6.7 with the manual gearbox. C02 is 154 and 157g/km (Tax Bands C and D). The car can sprint from 0-100km/h in 6.0 seconds.

Pricing will be announced before launch.
