Hyundai is reverting to the Tucson name for the next generation of its compact SUV range, writes Brian Byrne.
The car, which will replace the current ix35, will debut at Geneva next month.
The company says it is following a sporty line in the shape.
More than a million Hyundai SUVs have been sold in Europe since the Santa Fe was introduced in the early 2000s.
The first Tucson was introduced in 2004. It was renamed ix35 for the second generation except in South Korea. The new one will revert to the original name in all markets.
