A new generation Jaguar XF looks more aggressive, is lighter and more fuel efficient, writes Brian Byrne.
Unveiled in London this evening, the second generation of the model that arguably 'saved' Jaguar is shorter, but has a longer wheelbase than the current car, making available more room for occupants.
It uses the same 75 percent aluminium platform as the new XE smaller Jaguar, and will go on sale in European markets in the autumn.
The key engine will be the new Jaguar Land Rover 163hp 2.0 Ingenium diesel engine, as well as a 180hp variant and a pair of Ford-based 3.0 V6 petrol units with power up to 380hp.
More details will be revealed during the public debut at the New York Auto Show on April 1.
