The latest incarnation of the Monte Carlo line of vehicles was presented at the recent Geneva Motor show in the all new Skoda Fabia and for the first time in the Fabia Combi Estate, writes Trish Whelan.
The Skoda Monte Carlo line of cars focuses on sporty interior and exterior styling elements without the requirement of high-powered or performance engines. It was first introduced here in 2011 on the previous generation Fabia and was followed up in 2014 with the Citigo Monte Carlo.
This new Fabia Monte Carlo goes on sale here in Ireland in July.
Features include black 16 or 17-inch alloy wheels, optional sports suspension, black exterior design elements, tinted rear window and rear side windows as well as a tinted panoramic glass roof. The interior comes with a leather three-spoke sports steering wheel, black interior and uniquely designed sports seats.
Raymond Leddy, Head of Marketing & Product Skoda Ireland says the Monte Carlo range has been very successful for the brand in Ireland as customers increasingly look to individualise their cars while maintaining value. He explains: "The Fabia Monte Carlo provides economy and fuel efficiency while giving the sense of a performance car from a higher price bracket."
Final prices and specifications will be announced closer to launch although pricing is expected to be less than €19,000.
