Volvo shows off S90 at Cork Week

The overall sail racing at the recent hugely successful Volvo Cork Week in Crosshaven was of a quality perfectly matched to the quality of Volvo cars, according to the Managing Director of Volvo Car Ireland Adrian Yates, writes Trish Whelan.

He was speaking during the week of sailing from the Royal Cork Yacht Club where part of the company’s sponsorship included a display of the Volvo range on the Yacht Club premises.

“The sailing has gone very well and the conditions have been fantastic. It’s a linkage between us and the sailing community; a fantastic cooperation and we’re very proud to have been involved. We have the quality of the racing and of our cars.”

The event was also used to introduce local people to the latest edition to their range, the Volvo S90 which retails here at €48,400 (a line-up of S90s pictured above). Power is from a choice of two 2.0, four-cylinder diesel engines – the fuel-efficient 190hp D4 and the powerful 235hp D5 PowerPulse, and in two trim levels, Momentum and Inscription. The D4 is in Tax Band A4 while the D5 AWD is in B1.

Mr Yates thanked local Volvo dealers Johnson & Perrott of Mahon Point for their sponsorship providing the Volvo cars on display around the Yacht Club.
