Mercedes-Benz sales manager Ciaran Allen and chief executive Stephen Byrne introduce the new Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupé, a sporty version of the recently introduced GLC mid-size SUV, which has now arrived on the Irish market.
Priced from €60,230, the new coupé is described by Ciaran Allen as a niche model that will appeal to those motorists who rate style just as highly as substance.
The coupé is slightly longer and lower than the GLC, with a sloping roofline, short rear overhang and single-louvre grille with star inset.
A body weight of 1,710kg is made possible through use of aluminium and a mix of high to ultra-high strength steels.
Inside, passenger space is on a par with the GLC with entrance height, shoulder, elbow and legroom all identical. The load compartment is extendable from 491L-1400L.
With four petrol and four diesel engine options available, the GLC 200d Coupe and GLC 220d Coupe will be most suited to the Irish market. The car has a 9-speed automatic transmission and sports suspension as standard.
