Up to 1,000 classic cars are expected at Punchestown next Sunday, for the inaugural Festival of Transport event organised by the Irish Vintage & Veteran Car Club, writes Brian Byrne.
The IVVCC is the umbrella organisation for the classic and vintage car scene in Ireland and has close to 70 affiliated clubs. Having supported regional shows for decades, the IVVCC decided last year to host its own event in 2017.
The event is open to the public from 10am-5pm and admission is €10 for adults with children going free.
In addition to the cars, motorcycles and steam engines on display, there will be over 40 trade and auto jumble stands and face painting, ballooning and rides for the children.
