Nissan showed two electric concepts at this week's Tokyo Motor Show, a crossover and a 'hot Nismo version of its Leaf, writes Brian Byrne.
The IMx is a four-seat crossover with a range of more than 600kms according to the Japanese system of calculation.
The twin electric motors can deliver up to 700Nm of torque, and the driving experience is very solid thanks to the low centre of gravity.
The Nismo variant concept of the new generation Leaf features improved aerodynamics with a sporty ambience.
Nissan also announced that it is entering the Formula E racing competition in 2018/2019, the same time that partner Renault will be leaving it to concentrate on its Formula 1 activities.
