Enterprise Rent-A-Car’s Toy Run to sick children

Santa, his Enterprise Rent-A-Car elves and Rudolph deliver gifts to Cathal Downey (4), Kildare; Holly O’Shaughnessy (3), Lucan; and Stephen O ’Mahony, Waterford.
Christmas came early this year for the boys and girls of Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin, as Santa, Rudolph, and his elves paid a surprise visit as part of Enterprise-Rent-A-Car's annual ‘Toy Run’, writes Trish Whelan.

This is the 18th consecutive year that the company has partnered with Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital to assist Santa and his Enterprise helpers deliver a sleigh full of treats and toys to some very special children who will spend Christmas in hospital this year.

The company’s Managing Director George O’Connor says the annual Christmas Toy Run really means a lot to them. “It’s a time of year that everyone at Enterprise looks forward to and staff from our 25 branches around Ireland have been busy fundraising throughout the year in advance of the visit.”

Rachel Kenna, Director of Nursing at the hospital said they were extremely grateful for Enterprise’s continuous support to the children and families attending the hospital, especially at Christmas which is a truly magical time for children.

“Although we try to get as many children as we can home for Christmas, more than 100 very ill children will spend Christmas Day in the hospital, so this event really helps us to add some magic and create a special experience for our patients, their families and staff at the hospital.”
