Enterprise Rent-A-Car moves to larger Naas premises


Enterprise Rent-A-Car has moved its Naas office to a larger, higher profile premises on the Kilcullen Road, beside the Garda station, writes Trish Whelan.

The new office, officially opened today by North Kildare Fine Gael TD, Bernard Durkan, provides employment for a team of eight including three new employees who have been recruited for an anticipated increase in demand. The new branch continues Enterprise Rent-A-Car’s presence in Naas since the original office was opened over a decade ago.

Bernard Durkan TD commented: “I was delighted to be asked to cut the ribbon on this new Enterprise Rent-A-Car branch in Naas. It really is an ideal location for the company and a great boost to the economic life of the town. I wish them great success with the new branch.”

Operating in Ireland since 1997, Enterprise is an award-winning car rental company that is known for its extensive network of locations, unique free ‘pick up’ service for customers, everyday low rates and outstanding customer service. It currently employs more than 200 staff and has 25 branches nationwide - more than any other car rental company.

Speaking about the opening of the new Naas branch, George O’Connor, Managing Director, Enterprise Rent-A-Car Ireland said: “We are delighted to be opening our new, larger location in Naas. It’s more accessible for our customers in the town and wider area. With more than 10 years operating in Naas under our belt, we’ve built up a sizeable and loyal customer-base of local people and businesses who need reliable, comfortable and affordable vehicles to go about their everyday business. We’re very excited about the growth in population and commercial activity in the Kildare area. The investment in this new facility puts us in a far better position to be able to serve the local needs of the residents and businesses in Co Kildare.”

This is just the latest opening of a new branch for us following similar openings in the last year in towns and cities across Ireland including Blackpool in Cork, Finglas in Dublin, Drogheda and Letterkenny. Car and van rental is becoming a very cost-effective and convenient solution for more people and companies.”

The new Enterprise Rent-A-Car branch on the Kilcullen Road in Naas is open Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm and until 4pm on Saturday and, from 8 July, Sundays from 11am to 2pm. The phone number is 045 895756.

Enterprise Rent-A-Car’s Toy Run to sick children

Christmas came early this year for the boys and girls of Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin, as Santa, Rudolph, and his elves paid a surprise visit as part of Enterprise-Rent-A-Car's annual ‘Toy Run’, writes Trish Whelan.

This is the 18th consecutive year that the company has partnered with Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital to assist Santa and his Enterprise helpers deliver a sleigh full of treats and toys to some very special children who will spend Christmas in hospital this year.

The company’s Managing Director George O’Connor says the annual Christmas Toy Run really means a lot to them. “It’s a time of year that everyone at Enterprise looks forward to and staff from our 25 branches around Ireland have been busy fundraising throughout the year in advance of the visit.”

Rachel Kenna, Director of Nursing at the hospital said they were extremely grateful for Enterprise’s continuous support to the children and families attending the hospital, especially at Christmas which is a truly magical time for children.


“Although we try to get as many children as we can home for Christmas, more than 100 very ill children will spend Christmas Day in the hospital, so this event really helps us to add some magic and create a special experience for our patients, their families and staff at the hospital.”

Uber launches on the Windows Phone

Uber, the mobile App that connects passengers with private hire vehicle drivers, has released a new Uber app for the Windows Phone, available for download now on the Windows Phone Store.

From today, users will be able to use the Uber app on their Windows Phone anywhere in the world - whether here in Ireland, or places like India or the United States.

The availability of the Uber app - in more than 150 cities and 41 countries - and the international adoption of the Windows Phone, means that Uber can connect with the Windows Phone community like never before.

Up to now, Windows Phone users accessed Uber through Uber's mobile site, but from today, users can connect through a native app that is optimised for the Windows Phone platform and reflects the complete Uber experience.

The company says they want their customers across the world to be able to seamlessly request a safe, reliable ride at the touch of a button.

Europcar Ireland adds to car rental fleet

Hyundai iPro
Europcar Ireland has expanded its Irish car fleet size to over 5,000 cars, writes Trish Whelan.

The new additions include three top models from the Hyundai range including the Hyundai iPro, Santa Fe and i40.

The Hyundai iPro is the brand's commercial vehicle boasting a 1.4 diesel engine producing 90bhp. It offers an efficient fuel economy and 1,316 litres of cargo area.

The Santa Fe is equipped with a 2.2 CDRI engine delivering strong performance but maintaining a high level of fuel economy. The Santa Fe offers Bluetooth as standard along with reversing camera, multi-function steering wheel and 17-inch alloy wheels as well as a host of other features.

The i40 is armed with a 1.7 diesel engine. i phone, iPod and USB ports come as standard along with a premium sound system. The i40 also includes an ISOFIX child seat and an aluminium roof rack. 16-inch alloy wheels and steering wheel controls are also a part of the extensive package.

Ronan Menton, Manager of Internet Strategy at Europcar says a user can log on, see what the starting teams are, see what time a match is at, or check out the locations where the matches are being played.

He says: "We would encourage people to use the app and share it on their own websites and social media. We can provide a code that allows them to embed it on their site if they want. Europcar has spent a lot of time and money on the world cup planner and now want people to enjoy it."

The Europcar World Cup Planner is hoping to emulate the success of previous tournament planners following the success of the Rugby World Cup planner in 2011. The Rugby World Cup planner amassed some 400,000 views reaching 150,000 people with over 200 days spent on the calendar.
