It comes with a modern design that retains all the authentic styling cues of the iconic Wrangler with several new top combinations that ensure more open-air freedom.
The interior combines authentic styling, with more modern features. The cabin is more stylish and comfortable with high-quality materials and finishes. The interiors are entirely washable. A bush button starter is new as is the option of heated front seats and steering wheel. There is also a new screws and bolts organiser at the bottom of the trunk to store away individual screws, and a tool kit with instructions inside the central armrest.
Two four-wheel drive, active, on-demand full time systems are offered: Command-Trac and Rock-Trac, next-generation Dana axles, Tru-Lock electric front- and rear-axle lockers, Trac-Lok limited-slip differential and an electronic front sway-bar disconnect.
The range includes two all-new engines, a 2.2 MultiJet II turbo diesel with 200hp and 450Nm torque; and a 2.0 turbo petrol engine with 272hp and 400Nm torque.
All Wrangler engine options come with the new eight-speed automatic transmission and feature Stop-Start technology.
New technologies include new LED headlamps and tail lamps, new Uconnected system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and the choice of 5.0, 7.0- or 8.4-inch touchscreens with pinch-and-zoom capability.
An array of safety and security systems include Blind spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Path detection, ParkView rear back up camera with dynamic grid lines, electronic stability control (ESC) with electronic roll mitigation, and four standard air bags.
The new Wrangler will be available in Sport, Sahara and Rubicon trim levels with 2- or 4-door body configurations. Sahara models can be equipped with the exclusive Overland pack.
