New Land Rover Defender to tour JLR dealerships

Land Rover’s new Defender is being hailed as ‘an icon reimagined for the 21st century’, writes Trish Whelan.

It looks tough, and is tough.

This new Defender is built for a world that has changed massively since the original was created back in 1948. With a distinctive silhouette and optimum proportions, the new vehicle has toughness at its core while its interior’s rugged modular architecture embraces the spirit of adventure that has been a fundamental part of Land Rover DNA for over 70 years.

The exterior design re-enforces Defender’s DNA but is a modern interpretation of the original -strong, confident, sophisticated design, durable and extremely tough.

The Defender’s all-terrain ability is beyond question; it is composed on any surface with supreme comfort ensuring long journeys are covered with ease. The Series and Defender models before it have gone above and beyond for decades, securing iconic status for their ability to help people make more of their world.

Defender is available in 90 and 110 body designs, with six models available; Defender, S, SE, HSE, Defender X and First Edition, with practical commercial models set to join the line-up later in the year.

Prices for the 110 2.0 SD4 AWD Auto model start from €68,160.

Irish customers can experience the Defender 110 First Edition model on the Defender Ireland Tour which takes in Jaguar Land Rover retailers across the country before its official launch this Spring.
