A new generation of the Mercedes-Benz GLA small SUV is higher and has more legroom than its predecessor but is also a tad shorter, writes Brian Byrne.
The interior will have a customisable instrumentation offering four styles of information display. The rear passengers have improved legroom, and there's also a larger capacity boot space.
The car also features enhanced driver assistance technology which includes a warning when pedestrians are in the vicinity of a zebra crossing.
A range of 4-cylinder engines will power the car, including 163hp 1.3 and 224hp 2.0 petrols, and 2.0 diesels with 150hp or 190hp outputs. An EQ Power hybrid will be available during the early market stages. A fully electric model will follow later this year.
Available in 2WD and 4WD, the latter will include a comprehensive off-road engineering package, which among other details will feature a special LED headlight function specifically for off-road driving.
