A T-Roc for those lazy, hazy, crazy days

It's cool, and on those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer (remember them?) it will certainly offer something more than your standard cabrio experience, writes Brian Byrne.

Volkswagen has officially launched its T-Roc Cabriolet which is now on its way to German market dealerships.

The vehicle is based on the small crossover T-Roc and has a fully automatic soft-top which can open in nine seconds, and can be operated while moving at speeds of up to 30km/h.

A rollover protection system behind the rear head restraints can extend in a fraction of a second in the event of any accident, and the front occupants are protected by a strengthened windscreen frame.

The T-Roc Convertible is 34mm longer than the SUV, allowing for the 284L boot space to be retained even when the top is folded. The wheelbase is also longer.

Power is from a choice of 115hp or 150hp turbocharged petrol engines.

Prices in Germany are from €27,495.
